Life: Anniversary Caneyhead Style

Woke up this morning, late.  Had to get my two cups of coffee swallowed down. Then rush to get ready for church.  Not a thought to the date.  Came home and helped Hubby get a deer ham and a pork ham defrosting.  Later, Candi Girl and Baby Ruth show up with a chocolate cake.  I thought, how sweet for them to bring a cake.  I tell them we are cutting up meat this afternoon; making jerky, sausage and chili meat for a big pot of chili tonight.  Stay, hang out and eat with us.

Later little Hazil says something about picking us bluebells for our anniversary. What?! Oh, my!  Yes, number Thirty-three snuck up on me!

Well, we did just what we planned.  Got a lot done.  Had good food and good company.  What more could you want?

Has a wedding anniversary ever slipped right up on you?

  1. Happy belated anniversary! Never forgot the day here in 36 years, maybe just didn't celebrate it always.

  2. Happy anniversary!
I've never forgotten. I remember the date better than my wife.

  3. Only had 31 before my husband died but in his German family you better not forget 'cause they were coming for cake and ice cream. No beer like people think about Germans. lol

  4. Oh wow! Well, Happy Belated Anniversary!! It sounds like you had a wonderful day. I don't think I've ever had one slip up on me like that, but the way my memory has been this past year, I won't be a bit surprised if one does some year.

  5. Happy anniversary!

I'm not married, so I can't say that's ever happened to me, but my uncle and aunt... A few years ago they completely forgot one. They told us the story later, laughing.

  6. I forget everything else, but so far, so good on our wedding anniversary. I love to play with David some days and say, "Happy Anniversary!" and watch him go through his mental Rolodex trying to figure out what anniversary he has forgotten. haha It could be something really silly like "the 55th anniversary of March 15 not being your birthday" or the 36th anniversary of our 1st New Year's Day together. It makes for at least one laugh that day. :)

    Have a blessed day!

  7. Happy Belated Anniversary! I have learned that as I get older, I tend to forget a lot of things... including my own birthday!

  8. Nope. I may not be the brightest crayon in the box but I do not forget our anniversary. Other things, yes. But not our anniversary of our wedding.
